為提升學生的英語聽說能力，落實高教深耕計畫教學創新與學習成效精進的目標，全人教育中心於近期舉辦英文之夜English Night活動。
活動以夜間輕鬆自在的氛圍為主軸，透過影片賞析與實際對話練習的方式，營造出一個沉浸式的英語學習環境，吸引眾多學生踴躍參與。
本次活動設計別出心裁，特別挑選生活化、情境豐富的英文短片與影集片段，讓學生在賞析影片的過程中自然地接觸道地英文句型與用語，
加強聽力理解與語感建立。影片播放後，輔以教師引導討論與重點句型解析，幫助學生掌握日常對話中常見的語言結構與發音技巧。
活動的另一大亮點是英語對話實作時間。透過討論，學生實際演練影片中情境，強化口語表達與臨場反應能力。
活動現場氣氛熱絡，不少學生表示「平常開口說英文很緊張，但在這樣輕鬆的環境中反而更願意嘗試」。
整場活動不僅提升學生的英語實用能力，也激發學習興趣，讓英語學習從課堂走向生活。
未來全人教育中心也將持續規劃更多元、趣味且具實用性的語言學習活動，協助學生在全球化浪潮中具備良好的語言競爭力。
To enhance students’ English listening and speaking abilities and to realize the goals of innovative teaching and improved learning outcomes under the Higher Education Sprout Project, the Holistic Education Center recently held the “English Night” event.
The event focused on creating a relaxed and enjoyable evening atmosphere, using film appreciation and real-life conversation practice to build an immersive English-learning environment that attracted enthusiastic participation from many students.
The event featured a thoughtfully designed program, including selected English video clips and TV show segments rich in everyday scenarios and context. These materials allowed students to naturally encounter authentic sentence patterns and expressions, enhancing their listening comprehension and developing their sense of language. After each video screening, instructors guided discussions and explained key sentence structures, helping students grasp common expressions and pronunciation techniques used in daily conversations.
Another major highlight of the event was the hands-on English dialogue session. Through guided discussions, students practiced role-playing based on scenes from the videos, strengthening their spoken communication skills and on-the-spot response abilities.
The event atmosphere was lively and engaging. Many students commented, “Normally, I feel nervous about speaking English, but in such a relaxed setting, I’m more willing to give it a try.”
Overall, the event not only improved students’ practical English skills but also sparked their interest in language learning, helping English become a part of their everyday lives beyond the classroom.
Looking ahead, the Holistic Education Center will continue to organize diverse, enjoyable, and practical language learning activities to help students build strong linguistic competencies in an increasingly globalized world.
